The Canarian Employment Service ( SCE)
The public employment service of the Canary island an organism belonging to the employment and social affaires of the Canarian Govermment.
The SCE offers a variety of services to people seeking employment .Through the SCE one can :
. Register in the SCE´job seekers date base .
. Search for job offers
.Reach for information on other employment related services ,eg, temporaty work companies ,profesional associations , etc .
. Sign up for occupational formative courses.
Have acces to subsidies for business creation ( SELF –EMPLOYED),creation of cooperative or workers limited companies .
.Claim unemployment benefits , subsidies and other benefits that you may be eligible while you are unemployed .The competent body for paying these subsidies ( The National Employment Public Servive INEM share offices with the SCE , so all the paperwork can be done in one place .

REGISTERING WITH THE SCE EMPLOYMENT OFFICE.
For nationals of a member state of the European Economic Area ( Germany, Austraia,Belgium,Cyprus,Denmark , Spain , Slovak,Slovenia,Estonia,Finland ,Greece ,Hungary,Ireland, Italy,Leetonia,Lithuania,Luxemburg,Malta , The Netherlands ,Poland , Portugal,The united Kingdom ,Check Republic ,Sweden , Norway and Switzerland , the conditions required for registering as a job seeker in our SCE offices are:
. To be a resident of the Canary Island having an adress in the canary island .
. To have a valid ID card or passport .
. To show the NIE ( numero de identificacion de extranjeros) if you have one
. The NIE number is very useful for relations to the Spanish public administration .We recommend you to apply for it in.
The foreigner office of your province or in the police offices.

As you go to register in the Employment Office you will be interview by one of ours professionals. It is convenient to bring with you all the diplomas of your qualifications and documents that give support to your work experience .If you do not speak Spanish it is convenient to go accompanied by someone to help you with the translation in order to understand properly your rights and obligations.
VALIDATING YOUR ACADEMIC / VOCATIONAL TRAINING TITLES
Some academic vocational foreign degrees are not valid in Spain unless they have been validated by the Spanish Ministry of education and culture , or recognised as valid by a corresponding legal entity if your degree has been obtaines in an EU country . EXPORTATION OF UNEMPLOYMENT BENEFITS
If you have the E303 Document from your country of origin ,to receive unemployment benefits in the Canary Islands , according to the E.U Regulations 1408/71 and 574/72 , you must:
1º Register with the employment office , nearest to your address in the Canary Island , within 7 days after your arrival to the country.
2º Bring the E 303 document , to the unemployment benefits department INEM located in the same employment office .The national employment service will pay you the unemployment benefits for a amximum period of three months.
